Now our hydro-generator has started to function. A propeller behind the boat uses the energy of moving water to charge the batteries night and day. Fuelsaving.
Two days ago our highflying parasailor had a bath in the sea. A rope was weared but the dragon was rescued and is eager to fly again when calm winds. But the last days have had rather heavy winds. Yesterday a storm of 25.5 m/s forced us south for some hours, but now we are heading eastwards again. Waves are still making our sailing bumpy but also more exciting. 903 nautical miles to go. R

Today the wind is really calm. We have set up the parasailor to catch more of it. Still moving eastwards in a decent speed. Today's shower was with buckets of saltwater on the bathing platform behind the boat. Refreshing international waters. R

Life is ok out here. Handling ropes and sails, checking weather forecast downloaded by the ssb-radio, preparing food, discussing and reading fill the days. Life is mostly undramatic and slow. Hurry cannot get us faster to the next stopover. I use to be a little impatient, but spending time on the ocean hopefully teaches me patience.
Still 1556 Nm to go, destination Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, the Azores. R

Still going east. The wind is pleasant. We had a windshift and some rainshowers tonight. The French and the Finnish crew (and the autopilot) held the boat on track when I was asleep - sleeping well after too much pasta carbonara.
The UK crew had to leave for home when in Bermuda. I am so thankful that all is running well out here. R

A little rough weather last night but we all got some sleep. We are heading more eastwards now, with a speed of 7 knots on a reefed genua. Tonight's excitement woke me up by knocking on my roof/skylight intensely. A flying fish with a lot of energy.
Rough weathersystems in the north make us want to stay south & go east for a few more days. R

We left Bermuda St. George this morning, sailing southeast to have a not too windy Wednesday. The sun is shining and warming us but nights are getting more cool. One containership close in front of us recently, otherwise no traffic jam out here. The wind is plentiful and waves too. Speed is 6 - 7 knots, it is an incredible feeling to be carried across the waters by mother nature. Thanks. R

A slight change of plans because of rough weather approaching allows us a stoppover in Bermuda. The final part to the Azores will have to wait for some days.
Three dolphins are swimming together with us at the moment. Beautiful.

We are now less than 2 days south of Bermuda. The wind is easterly and the current moves us westwards. So the course is still more north than east.
It is not too crowded out here,
there is a ship in the horizon about every second day. But today we had a visit of 3 beautiful, white birds with long thin tails. They did not enter the boat but inspected it from all sides.
We have been sailing for five days now. Still probably 20 to go.

Kristine is now 4° north of p.Rico. We are doing 7 knots at the moment. Nice winds and relatively calm seas make the going easy. And the sun is charging our batteries and the boat's. The one crew starting out seasick seems to be cured now. Other than trimming sails and preparing food there is not much to be done. Which allows for reading and writing. Still 2259 nautical miles to go.
