Today we had a trip to the southern part of the island, and even the bus trip was an adventure. People are so happy here, yet they have so little. With that I mean no shopping centre and no fashion week, only groceries and knitting utensils…more or less. The main town is full of grey, old stone houses and the wind has removed all other thinkable sightings on the island! Amazing.
Today I started my schooling project - as my big dream is becoming a doctor and my school of choice was music, I am missing out on some physics and chemistry. I hope I’ll be able to learn all I need, but I’m realising I have way too much fun things to do onboard already. I mean, first of all we’re sailing. And not only are we sailing we are sailing the world! Every place we come to is a new, unexplored land with thousands of adventures awaiting! And what more, I have loads of novels I want to read, a viola that needs practice, a blog that needs care, a crew to converse with and actual work to do on the boat! I thought I would have tons of spare time to lean back and philosophise, but nay…
Our plan is to leave for Fair Isle tomorrow - and then go south to get to Lanzarote within two months.
I can't wait to get into the Caledonian canal and go up the rivers of Scotland! (And now we're at the "boring part", who knows what waits when we get further south! I'm so immensely excited!!)
I wish I had time to process the pictures, but I guess "life is too exciting" is a good enough excuse.
The cutest house!
